Case Study Overview & Implementation

Project overview

Day Dispatch is a live logistics platform that I built independently. It connects the commercial steps of a transport job: a broker posts the job, a carrier picks it up through the bidding process, and the parties discuss and agree on a rate. The platform also supports bidding between carriers and drivers.

The core workflow combines job discovery, bidding and communication in one application. A posted job starts the conversation; the bid and agreed rate establish the transport arrangement. Real-time chat lets participants discuss the work while using the platform.

My role

I developed the complete project, including the Laravel application, MySQL database integration, broker and carrier workflow, bidding, rate negotiation and socket-based chat. This included both the transport workflow and its supporting communication features.

From a broker's job to an agreed rate

  1. Job posting: a broker publishes a transport job on the platform.

  2. Carrier participation: a carrier identifies a job and enters the bidding or pickup process.

  3. Discussion: participants communicate about the job through real-time chat.

  4. Rate agreement: the broker and carrier settle the rate for the work.

Bidding and rate agreement are separate parts of this journey: a carrier's interest in a job starts the negotiation, while the agreed rate defines the commercial terms.

Technical implementation

The application uses Laravel 8 and a MySQL database. Sockets support its real-time communication and chat. These technologies serve the platform's main functions: publishing logistics work, participating in bids and discussing transport arrangements.

The gallery preserves seven screens captured on April 9, 2026: the public website, login, registration, manufacturer, pricing, dispatcher and owner-operator pages. They show that captured version of the application; the current website's design has since changed.
